DNA & ReplicationThis is important.
The Helicases unzip or unwind the double helix of the DNA. The single-stranded proteins stabilized the unwound DNA, and the leading strand is synthesized by the DNA polymerase. The lagging stand, or the Okazaki fragment is glued together by the ligase. After this, there are two identical strands of DNA. This is important, because while the DNA is being replicated, functions through the body are happening. If there is a mutation or mistake in this process, it will reek havoc in your system.
